Masary was coined in the last century by people in the Levant region who called the money spend by Egyptians “Masary” meaning the money of Egyptians, it is still being used by them as well as the Arabian Gulf countries.

MFI stands for Micro Finance Institutions who provide small (micro) loans to people who are poor and near poor need this money to start a business and make a living. MFIs in Egypt are NGOs whose main focus is community development.
